Why do I need to upload materials?
Sharing preparation materials with the interpreters helps them to best prepare for the specific subject matter discussed in the meeting. This step is key to ensuring quality and accurate simultaneous interpretation during your meetings.
How can I upload materials?
Once your booking request is completed, you can click on the button “Add preparation materials securely and exclusively for interpreters”, directly from the confirmation page. This will prompt you to a secure page to upload files and add links for the interpreters.
What are the materials I can upload?
You are invited to upload any material that can be helpful for the interpreters to prepare for the meeting: presentation slides, glossary, support/working documents discussed during the meeting, list of the speakers, event agenda, recording of previous similar meetings, etc. Drafts and unpolished presentations are more than welcome. KUDO Marketplace accepts files in the following format: pdf, word, ppt, excel, png, jpeg, jpg, gif, mp4, mp3.
Can I upload materials if I don’t have them ready when I am booking interpreters? If so, how?Preparation materials can be uploaded any time before the meeting starts. To do so:
- Go back to your KUDO client account and click on the KUDO meeting.
- Click on the “Users” tab, then click on the “Interpreters” section.
- Click on the “Add preparation materials securely and exclusively for interpreters” button.
Note: uploading preparation materials under the “Documents” tab does not reach the interpreters!
How can I make sure interpreters are qualified?
All interpreters in KUDO Marketplace are KUDO Pro interpreters. All KUDO Pro interpreters have been vetted by KUDO and have:
- KUDO Certified status (attesting to one’s proficiency in the platform)
- A minimum of 1 (one) successful meeting or supervised training session as an interpreter on KUDO
- Recent CV providing proof of conference interpreting experience and a minimum of two professional references
- Full compliance with KUDO's connectivity and technical requirements
What languages are supported?
200+ spoken and sign languages.
What if the interpreter doesn’t show up?
KUDO Marketplace is designed for full redundancy. The system will automatically engage a different interpreter if the one originally scheduled for the meeting does not acknowledge the prompt to join or isn’t available. KUDO reviewers monitor the service 24x7 and will be notified instantly should an interpreter need to be replaced.
Can I meet my interpreters prior to the session?
Interpreters will sign into the meeting at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the session. From this point forth they will be available for soundchecks and reachable by chat messages on KUDO.
Will I be able to see the interpreters' details prior to the meeting?
Yes, once the interpreter accepts an assignment you will be able to see their first name, last initial, years of experience, and language expertise. You will also see whether they have a signed NDA on file.
What if I need an interpreter for only a portion of my meeting?
As you are scheduling your meeting on KUDO Marketplace you can input the exact duration for which you will need interpretation under ''Click here if you only need interpreters for a portion of the meeting”. This can be less than your meeting duration. You will only be charged for the interpretation time.
What if the meeting is canceled? Will I get a refund?
As a client, you are the only one with the power to cancel the meeting. According to the KUDO Marketplace cancellation policy, if your cancellation notice is over 72 hours in advance of the meeting, then there is no penalty. If it is between 24 hours and 72 hours 50% of the price is charged. If it is less than 24 hours in advance of the meeting, 100% of the price is charged.
How do I cancel the interpretation service?
To cancel the entire KUDO meeting, you can click on “Cancel Meeting” on the meeting editing page. This will prevent participants from joining the session and will also notify all the interpreters of the cancellation. Please see KUDO Marketplace cancellation policy above.
If you want to cancel only one of several specific languages of the meeting, please reach out to our Language Services team at ls@kudoway.com to inform KUDO of the changes
What if I’m not happy with the quality of an interpreter?
Given the careful selection of interpreters in KUDO Marketplace, it is unlikely that you will experience any major quality issues. That said, clients have direct and real-time access to Client Success Representatives who will acknowledge their needs and propose the best possible solution on a case-by-case basis. If warranted, a replacement can be arranged and carried out swiftly.
Can I rate interpreters?
KUDO Marketplace does not allow clients to rate the interpreters after a meeting. However, clients can reach out to their designated Client Success Representative to provide feedback and suggestions on the solution and the interpreters.
What if my meeting extends beyond the proposed schedule?
The KUDO platform allows a 1-hour grace period after the scheduled end time. However, the interpreters are only booked for the interpretation time entered during the booking request. An occasional overrun of 10-15 mins can be easily accommodated for most meetings. Clients will then be charged overtime fees.
Who chooses the interpreters for a meeting?
KUDO Marketplace will choose the interpreters automatically for meetings scheduled within 2 to 12 hours before the meeting start time. For any other meetings, KUDO reviewers will vet the selection and make any necessary adjustments.
Who are the KUDO reviewers?
KUDO Reviewers are in-house project managers (who are also conference interpreters) working under the supervision of a former United Nations Chief Interpreter.
Can I bring one of my interpreters and use KUDO to book the other 2 interpreters?
KUDO Marketplace only allows the booking of KUDO Pro interpreters.
How fast can I book interpreters for my meetings?
KUDO Marketplace allows you to book interpreters as early as twelve (12) hours from the meeting start time.
How much time in advance should I book interpreters?
The sooner, the best! The more lead time you give the KUDO reviewers to put together the interpreters’ team, the more flexibility they will have in picking the right resources. You can book the interpreters as soon as the KUDO meeting is created and until 12 hours before it starts.
If I have a series of meetings, can I get the same group of interpreters?
KUDO Marketplace does not identify the interpreters you had previously worked with. However, and unless you had an unsuccessful experience with previous interpreters, the KUDO reviewers will always do their best to reconduct the same team of interpreters for your meetings, upon interpreters’ availability.
What happens if the meeting date/time or languages change, and interpreters are already booked?
Please bear in mind that changes in meetings are not reflected or automatically communicated to the interpreters. If changes need to be made to a meeting, (no later than 72 hours before the meeting – please see KUDO Marketplace cancellation policy), please reach out to our Language Services team at ls@kudoway.com to inform KUDO of the changes.
Is sign language interpretation eligible for booking on Marketplace?
Yes, sign language is supported on KUDO Marketplace.
Where are the interpreters?
KUDO Pro interpreters are based all over the globe and can support meetings happening in all time zones. Interpreters join remotely. KUDO carefully reviews and vets all the interpreters’ IT environment, equipment, and setup to make sure they comply with a rigorous set of technical requirements.
