Audience: AV/IT.
Route computer playback into KUDO using a virtual audio device; add OBS when video is needed. This procedure follows the documented Windows audio-routing example.
Before you start
Prepare the KUDO session and languages, Chrome, VB-Cable, and optionally OBS Studio. Check source playback first.
Steps
- Join the source event with your microphone muted and camera off.
- Send source-app audio and Windows output to VB-Cable. In the documented Zoom example, both speaker outputs use the virtual cable.
- Join KUDO with the Participant/Speaker link. Choose the virtual cable as its microphone, set the source language and AI voice, mute KUDO’s loudspeaker to prevent feedback, and enable its microphone.
- For video, add a display, window, or media source in OBS and start its virtual camera. Select that camera in KUDO and enable video.
What to expect
KUDO receives the routed playback for translation when the microphone is turned on; OBS supplies video separately.
Troubleshooting
| Issue / Task | Possible Cause | Recommended Action |
|---|---|---|
| Presentation clip has no translation | Playback is not routed | Check the source application output and virtual-cable input in KUDO. |
| Captions remain still | KUDO microphone is off | Enable it; allow Chrome microphone access. |
| Video is absent | Virtual camera not running or selected | Start it in OBS and select it in KUDO. |
