Audience: Meeting organizers, Hosts, Operators, and onsite participants

Overview

In KUDO sessions with Audio Manager (Hybrid) enabled, onsite attendees can use the KUDO Live mobile application to participate in electronic voting and live polls alongside the session’s translation experience.

Participants join using the meeting’s Participant link, select I’m an onsite participant, and access polls during the session. Authorized Hosts or Operators manage the polls and control when results become available.

Before you start

For organizers

• Enable Audio Manager (Hybrid) for the KUDO session.
• Share the meeting’s Participant link with attendees.
• Prepare the poll questions and answer options.
• Assign a Host or Operator to launch and close polls and publish results.
• Test the participant workflow in KUDO Live before the event.

For participants

• Install the KUDO Live application on your mobile device.
• Have the meeting’s Participant link available.
• Connect to reliable Wi-Fi or mobile data.
• Keep your device charged throughout the session.

Important: This workflow uses the Participant link and the KUDO Live application. The translation-only Mobile Link is a separate access method.

Step 1: Join as an onsite participant

1. Use the Participant link provided by the organizer to join the session in KUDO Live.
2. When the You are joining a hybrid meeting screen appears, select I’m an onsite participant.
3. Complete the joining process to enter the meeting.

Choose the onsite option when attending in person at one of the event locations.

Step 2: Open the polling feature

1. Once you have joined, open Polls in the application.
2. Select the Polls tab.
3. Wait for the Host or Operator to launch a poll.

Poll availability depends on the meeting’s configuration and whether the facilitator has opened voting.

Step 3: Select and submit your answer

1. Read the poll question.
2. Check how many answers you may select.
3. Tap your preferred answer or answers.
4. Tap Submit to send your response before voting closes.

In the example shown, the question is “Where are you located?” Participants may select one answer: East, West, North, or South. The selected answer appears in blue with a checkmark.

Selecting an answer is not the same as submitting it. Tap Submit to complete your vote.

Step 4: View the results

When the Host or Operator makes results available:

1. Open Polls.
2. Select the Results tab.
3. Review the published outcome.

The results screen can show:

• Eligible: Participants eligible to vote.
• Voted: Participants who submitted a response.
• Not voted: Eligible participants who have not submitted a response.
• The response count and percentage for each answer.

In the example, two participants are eligible and one has voted. West has one response and displays 100%. That percentage reflects the submitted response, not participation by all eligible voters.

Guidance for Hosts and Operators

Prepare questions before the session and confirm the permitted number of selections. During the event, announce each poll, allow enough time for attendees to respond, and remind them to tap Submit.

Close voting when the response period ends, then publish results as appropriate. Confirm that participants can see the results before moving to the next question.
